“Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce” (Proverbs 3:9).

Treasures in Heaven

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:19-21)

Because God Loved us so much He sent His only Son, Jesus, to forgive us of our sins and provide us eternal life with him and his father.  God has provided each person Salvation through Jesus Christ if they genuinely know, understand and believe about their sinfulness and need for salvation.

To understand that we are all sinners is the first step toward salvation.  Romans 3:10 states, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one".  Titus 3:5-7 says, We are all sinners in need of mercy and forgiveness from God, and Matthew 25:46 states, because of our sin, we deserve eternal punishment.  The Bible is clear on this and tells us that we have all sinned.

The sinners prayer is a prayer you pray to God when you understand that you are a sinner and need a Savior.  Saying a sinners prayer is not enough in it's self.  You must know what God has done to provide you with salvation and you need to honestly seek his favor.  Understanding what God did for the sinner is found in several places in his Holy Word, the Bible.

John 1:1,14 states God took on flesh and became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ
John 8:46 & 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us Jesus taught us the truth about God and lived a perfectly righteous and sinless life
Romans 5:8 says Jesus then died on the cross in our place, taking the punishment that we deserve
Colossians 2:15 & 1 Corinthians 15 say Jesus rose from the dead to prove His victory over sin, death, and hell
Because of Christ's sacrifices we can have our sins forgiven and have eternal life if we will just place our faith in Jesus Christ.  All you have to do is believe that He died in our place and rose from the dead (Romans10:9-10).  You can then be saved by Grace, through faith in Jesus Christ.  Ephesians 2:8 stated, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and that not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Saying the sinners prayer is a way of declaring to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ as your savior.  It is only faith in Jesus' death and resurrection that can save you.  If you understand that you are a sinner and in need of salvation through Jesus Christ and wish to invite Jesus into your heart then click continue below.
